Montezuma Bowl closed - where should we go?

Me and several friends from Wisconsin are heading out Colorado way the first week of February... Last year, several trips to A-Basin were had, and we love it like no other.  But I see the Montezuma Bowl has yet to open, and so now we're looking for an alternative destination.  We're staying in Denver, and driving in every day (free lodging, and we don't mind the drive) so we're looking for something that's comparable in difficulty and style to A-Basin close to Denver.  Anyone feel like making recommendations?

The wind is filling Breck's Whale's Tail and Peak 7 terrain with snow this week.  But Montezuma could be open in a couple more weeks.

Hmmm...if somebody flies to CO to ski and Montezuma Bowl is closed...is that "Montezuma's Revenge", the winter version?

 hah!  We're driving, anyway :)

Thanks for the advice... I'll do a little research on Breckenridge.  Any other suggestions?

Skied Beaver Creek yesterday (Talons Challenge) and Copper today.  I had high hopes for today as we had a fair bit of snow (ok, 5 inches, but given how dry its been, I'll take what we get).  There was a lot of wind, and the west side of the mountain was pretty scoured.  The east side seemed to have a lot of the snow (wind loaded).  I didn't get to ski Spaulding as it was closed all day because of the avi danger, and Jupiter Bowl was closed until after I moved to the east side of the mountain.  The snow did freshen stuff up, but we still need snow.

All of this is by way of stating how surprised I was by the snow depth at the Beav yesterday.  They've had more snow.  While its a bit longer of a drive to BC, I would think about doing it unless Summit County gets a bunch of snow next week (which is looking possible).

Copper is not skiing badly, as the traffic there has been much less than most other areas.  I haven't skied Breck in a month, so can't comment about that.  While Kneale is right that there was a lot of wind loading today, the wind direction was a bit odd.  And there was so much wind that many slopes at Copper were scoured down to the old snow.

Skied Copper Sat & Sun, getting much better, A-lift was nice! Meadows was also very Nice. With all the driving your going to be doing, Shell gas stations have Bogo;s for Copper/ Winter Park with every 10 gals of gas that you buy there!
Was still snowing when we headed out @ 8pm tonight!

How well do you know Loveland?  Chair #1 there provides some steeps, also you can hike the Ridge if it's open? for more serious steeps.  Bulk of Loveland terrain is intermediate to low expert, but very fun and usually crowd free, lower cost, one of the closest to commute to from Denver, right on I70 next to Eisenhower tunnel.
Other commutable options not already mentioned:  there is limited, but choice steep runs and glades at Eldora near Boulder, CO, and famous mogul runs of Mary Jane section of Winter Park.

Thanks for the advice everyone!  I feel comfortable on most of the terrain at A-Basin, except for the East Wall and some of Pavi.  I've never skied anything else out that way, so we'll see.  I've got two others going with me, one who is nearly at my level, and one who is more of a low-intermediate skier.  We're going to ski for 2 or 3 days, so perhaps we'll check out a couple spots.
