I could really use some advice on what the proper boot flex for someone my size is. I recently picked up skiing again and am looking to buy some new gear since renting has really gotten on my nerves.
The best boots I've rented so far were Tecnica Phoenix 90's... fit like a glove, secure heel, great control. I could get a good deal on these, but I'm concerned a bit about the flex rating. Would this be too soft in the long run for a guy my size?
When I tried em on again in the shop (paid more attention to flex this time) they were bending and bulging all over the place when I really pushed into them. I was afraid they were going to break (not exaggerating)... I guess I should definitely look for a stiffer boot? Or is this normal? When do I know if the boot has the correct flex?
Thanks in advance!
