EMERGENCY ADVICE Needed Quickly - Ski Transport

Thread Starter
I am departing in 24 hours for Vermont from NYC. The car Benz S500 4-matic sedan is very roomy but no Ski Rack on top of the car.

I have a ski bag and am transporting 3 pairs of skis. The longest is K2 Crossfire 181 and others smaller Apperantly the bag must go inside of the car but how do you place it and pack it properly to minimize inconvenience and damage during the transportation. There are 3 poeple inside including the driver.

Please advice and thanks in advance..

I'm not at all familiar with the Mercedes or whether it has a fold down rear seat.  If you can fold down part of the rear seat, go for that option.

Failing that, you will probably have to put the skis down the middle of the vehicle across the center console and rear seat.  Definitely put all the skis into ski bags to save the interior finish.  I would even bring some extra towels/blankets to secure everything.

With three passengers total you may be able to angle the skis in the back seat.  Put the tails by the rear passengers feet and the ski tips on the opposite roof side of the rear seat.

Good luck.
