New K2 Hellbent....WOW!!

Shot this pic of the new K2 Hellbent.......this ski is way too cool.  132mm waist and now with tip and tail holes so you can use pre-cut K2 skins. Can't wait to get a chance to ski them. Maybe at the SIA on snow demo at Winter Park.

Calling Finndog, Calling Finndog,

New bestest ski on horizon?
I skied Hellbents for a week late last March at Alta. Snowed like every day powder heaven. I never had skied powder but they took this ice skating eastern skier into the pow and made it fun. These will be my pow ski of choice here on it.

I think they are 122 at the waist though. Well they were last year. I skiied them in a 189 and they even were pretty manageable on the groomers getting back to the lifts. Just had to use the middle of the ski. Very nice boards.

I think that clown is way too creepy.  I wouldn't want that staring up at me.  To each his own.  Disclaimer:  I think all clowns are creepy.

It doesn't look THAT bad when you see both ski's full length. I'm curious about the bases though.

I think that was a short lived impression; 4 days on them and they are over in the gear swap forum for sale. I think once Finn skis the new MX108 this spring, he will be dumping those Icelantics too   Maybe not though, the Shamans are really nice skis according to everyone I know who has tried them.

I skied with Finn last week in Snowmass. As I remember it,he didn't like the Shamans so much but liked the Nomads. I think it was that gargantuo tip that he didn't like so much. The actual sidecut is only 2m different in the long length.

Does anyone really like clowns? Except for John Wayne Gacy - the serial killer..

You are right!  I had forgotten which Icelantic was which. The Nomad comes in the longer length and has less sidecut, the Shaman is short and turny.  Heard good things about both.

Dawg:

Shaman also comes in a longer length.  Just picked up a pair of used 184cm to use as my soft snow ski.  They measure more like 181 though.

I liked the Shamans but the New nomad SFT"s are my favorite Icelantics by far. The tip is OK but a but much (160) the Mad's are 146-111-136, with camber; big but much more nimble of a ski (IMHO) I have skied them in over 2' and on soft groomers and I have to say I really don't have any rockers on my must list at this point. Regarding the Bent's that's a fun ski don't get me wrong. if you can ski pow a lot and don't have to ship around multiple pairs of skis, I would keep them, they are a lot of fun but I use the Nomads as my soft snow up to knee plus depth and they have done great. They are even ok on big shark tooth bumps.  I may just keep them at the Boat' for huge dump days.  DISCLAIMER- Icelantic is about to showcase their new "The KEEPER" rocker at SIA. I have not seen it yet but have discussed with a rider of thiers at Jhole. It sounds very nice, I think (not sure) but 10/20 with camber.... I don't really like rockered tails so I am hoping its not much on the tail.
