Any Suggested Tune-up For This Issue

Thread Starter

I have noticed that when I am skiing on a flat cat walk like surface at a slow speed my right ski seems to pivot on the center below my boot on the surface of the snow.  It can get fairly wobbly at times and has caused me a few embarrassing wipe-outs. I thought maybe it was just me and had a friend ride them and he said he felt it as well. Is this a common issue and if so is there a term for this? Is there a fix or some sort of professional tune-up that would fix this?

Is it base high like the following? This requires a base grind by a competent shop or hand planing :

Any burrs on your edges requiring edge work?

Have you checked to see if the ski is bent?

Cant and fore/aft stance analysis????

Boot cuff adjusted to match lower leg profile?

Have you swapped left for right skis? If the problem follows the ski, then the ski is likely the problem. If not it is probably from the boot up. Which isn't to say there may not be something wrong with the skis. None of us are perfectly symetrical.
