I totally agree as to the actual pantybomb incident. The problem is that within a few minutes the guy should've realized, Gee, the guy's own dad fingered him to the CIA, he paid cash for his ticket, etc. etc. etc., and it still took a passenger (who would have been in violation of the rules put in place immediately after the incident) to keep disaster from happening. All our systemic efforts seem good at harrassing 87 year old grandmas from Nebraska, but if you are on an actual watch list and your dad calls us to say he thinks you may be a terrorist, we're still not prepared to handle that. Hmm, problem?
Kind of like a patient NEARLY getting the wrong blood in a hospital. A minor incident in outcome, huge freakin' problem for what it means.
