Snow conditions in Alta-Snowbird

I'm ready to make my flight reservation for a skiing trip in the first week of march 2010. My first choice was Alta-Snowbird but right now I'm not sure because of the snow conditions and quantity. I read different post on the net about the low coverage in the area. So, does i'm better to go skiing elsewhere (like Revelstoke in BC, Canada)??

March is a long time away and they get storms that last a week long and can dump 10' of snow.  Conditions in Utah are pretty dependable in Utah in early March.  Plenty of time between now and then for good coverage.  I wouldn't change my plans.

Little Cottonwood Canyon the first week in March?

Utah is the safest bet in the world (i.m.h.o.) you'll have oodles of snow by then.. they have plenty right now they just need a good storm to freshen up.First week of march plan on soft warm conditions requiring extra sunscreen and lip balm. They are also prone to some heavy dumpers in march.

March and April are the best snow months. Don't think about it, just do it.

Odds are good but not a given in March
My cousins have a time share at Iron Blossam at SB 3rd week of March-I would say of the dozen or so weeks I have spent there over the years-half of those weeks had some pretty good pow days, while many of those weeks were warm, sunny and dry without much new.

Like March of 2004-70 deg in SLC, 50's on the hill, skiing slush/death cookies except in the consistently shaded areas, a few years before that it was epic..hard to predict

Still you can always find some good snow and good times at SB

I'm gonna be up there next week. I really hope they get a big storm before then + some when we get there. It's always tough to plan a ski vacation because part of the reason you go to Utah is for the "best powder on earth," but this season seems to be the yin to last year's epic yang.
