I bought these skis to replace my worn out 2006 Head XRC 1100 chip (170) finding them at Al's Ski Barn for essentially pro price.  (No longer avail from Al's)  I transferred the HD 14 demo bindings over from the old skis.

Never have I been on anything as damp, solid, and smooth as these skis.  No chatter, no surprises, no apparent speed limit.  Solid edge grip on hardpack at speed inspires confidence to go even faster.  Amazingly fun ski.

Fans of snappier feel (Atomic) probably won't like the dampness of the Head XRC.

This is also a rather heavy ski, demo bindings don't help, of course.

Sandwich construction, railflex plate.  I am a skeptic of the real value of any "free flex" binding system, and prefer to drill holes and screw my choice of bindings onto my skis.  The railflex plate is easily removed, leaving a flat mounting area if any problems such as lateral  play develops in the bindings as it did on the 2006 XRC's.

Great ski for fans of a solid, damp ride at speed.
