I think it would be cool to start a memorial tree of sorts there. Any ideas of items to hang in trees?  Is there something that he would havea said, that's cool?

Jackson Hole took care of this one pretty quick.  It was installed Saturday.

That is as it should be.

JHMS, you did the right thing; Big Wally would smile at that as do we the skiers.

Is his family okay?

Good job. i was wondering if JHMR has been doing the right thing. I have to think they have.

This is truly a tragic outcome and I am humbled by the risks Big Wally and his fellow patrollers take so that we can indulge our passions.  It is not surprising that it appears that even in death Big Wally is helping others by being an organ donor.  We should all honor his memory and thank a patroller, tell our loved ones how much we care, and sign our donor cards.

Surreal.. I started watching "300" on The Ski Channel, and Big Wally is talking about avalanches.

When I stopped beside the Wally World sign, I had no idea it was only hours old.

I share Living Proof's sentiments. Wally died with his skis on, doing something he loved, and making skiing safer for people like me. As an ex-paroller he has my utmost admiration.

To his loved ones, family & friends, my most sincere condolences.

I am in aspen/snowmass this week and I am very surprised that many of the patrllers haven't heard about this tragedy. I woud thing some kind of e-mail or something would be a cool thing to keep the community advised of losses' like this.

While you're out there, please stop by Wally's World and show some love respect on behalf of the Epicski Community.
