Denver question

post #1 of 7

Hi all;
I have a question for all you Denverites out there. I'll be coming into DIA on a Monday, early, (~10:00 AM), in Feb. Since I'll be staying in Golden that night before going up to the high country the next day and I can't check into my hotel until the late afternoon, I was wondering what I could do to pass the day. I thought about the zoo or the museum. I did a quick run-through the museum a few years ago and thought it was pretty good. Didn't see it all. What about the zoo? If the weather is OK, is the zoo worth it that time of year? Anything else I should consider? I'd like to be on my way across town before the rush-hour traffic.
Thanks!!

How about a hike?  There's tons of great hiking around Golden.  You could also go to the railroad museum in Golden, and tour Coors.

The Casino at Blackhawk. A short drive away. Or ski a half day at Eldora.

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science http://www.dmns.org/

Have you seen the new building at the art museum? At least from the outside. Can't remember who designed it, but it's pretty cool.

Plus the Art Museum's site has this list of Denver attractions: http://www.denverartmuseum.org/visit_us/whats_nearby/denver_attractions

 If it were me, I'd hightail it to Loveland for a few hours of afternoon skiing.
