Alta-Snowbird in the first week of March

Hi, I'm from Canada and looking to go skiing in Utah in the first week of March 2010. I'm looking for Alta-Snowbird. Right now, I think that the slopes conditions are not the best in the world but hope that will be better in March.

I want to know if the beginning of March is a good time to go at Alta-snowbird. I mean, what's about snow conditions? Does it look like spring conditions in this time of year or there is chances for powder days?
And what about the lineup at the chairlift? I think this is a holiday time for you in USA, so does the resorts are very crowded?

Thanks a lot!

March is a great time for Alta/Bird. Utah has a chance for powder, 10 months of the year?

IMHO, since it's so close to a major metropolitan area,  lines can be a problem anytime the skiing is really good?
