Holiday Valley- Wed Jan 6th?

Anyone going to be at Holiday Valley on Wednesday January 6th?  I have to head back up to Upstate NY on Sunday as my Mom is having some surgery on Monday.  Heading back to Pittsburgh on Wednesday and figured I'd ski a half day at HV on the way back.  I'll likely get to HV around 11am or so and ski till mid afternoon.

Though I'm from Elmira, NY I've never been to HV so some guidance from a local would be great!  Grew up in Elmira and learned to ski at Greek Peek, NY and Denton Hill, PA.

Thanks,

Mike

Anyone going to be at Holiday Valley on Wednesday the 6th or Thursday the 7th?

If only it was a week earlier. My vacation is over.

I am sure there are folks here that would like to meet up at 7Springs sometimes. We should probably set up a date for this year. Haven't met any people here.

I'd be there today but I can't get there. Too much snow. I've gotten over 2 feet at my house the past two days and it's still dumping at the rate of two inches an hour.

It's not supposed to let up til Monday night. I can only hope Holimont and Holiday are getting this.

I'll be skiing at least a couple days this week. Might be able to make it. Seems like every time I plan anything, work happens.

They are getting it.  Was there for four hours yesterday and actually left a bit early because I had a two hour drive home and didn't want to get stuck on the road as it was coming down so hard. Lots of fresh snow. I can only imagine how nice it was today. If it does continue on like this until Monday night, there is going to be a LOT of good snow and great conditions next week. . Been skiing on sleet, ice, rain slush during vacation. The rain totally destoryed what base HV had when I was there a week ago. Right when vacation is over, it starts coming down.

Still pounding here. Haven't seen it snow like this in a couple years. Blew the driveway out this morning and there's probably another 10" since then. No kidding. This is like Steamboat powder as it's only 10 degrees out. Went for a snowmobile ride ealier and actually got stuck. We have drifts ove 6 feet deep in spots. Winds are gusting to 40mph which doesn't help with visibility. Was no way to get to HV today.

Right now, I think New York actually has more snow than most places in Colorado.

The way it's snowing I may have to demo some fatties at HV on Wednesday.  All I brought with me are my Progressor 8+'s and they've gotten 2 feet over the last two days with more on the way!

You won't need fatties at Holiday Valley. They'll groom everything out. Now, Holimont might be a different story. I'm going to be on the first couple chairs in the morning there tomorrow. I'm betting knee deep tomorrow morning.

Ever been to Holimont Mike?

Still snowing Mike. I'm skiing Holiday tomorrow. I'm not sure about Wednesday. Tuff for me to take off three days in a row. We'll have to see.

Enjoy yourself!  No worries if you can't ski Wednesday.  I'll be back up your way sometime soon!

I am going to be at 7 springs this weekend (8-10).  I saw on the website that there are powder conditions.  can't wait.  I will also be up for the MLK weekend.
