epicski slow to load & navigate

Why does my computer get stuck on "edge.quantserve.com" for a long period of time before I can get on epicski? Navigation is also extremely slow when connecting through "edge.quantserve.com".

Apologies for any slow loading times.  If you experience problems on certain pages, please let us know which URLs are affected and what browser you're using.  We are very actively working to bring page load times down.  Thanks and happy new year!

I am having time of day issues with page load times. From 7:30 MST until sometime in the early afternoon, it takes 45 seconds to load my personalized home page. In the evening it takes just a few seconds. During the times when EpicSki.com loads slowly, facebook.com, microsoft.com, ebay.com and various sitest that I maintain on a dedicated server respond well; as expected. I run www.speedtest.net at the times that EpicSki is slow and get excellent download and upload rates:

46 ms pings from Breck to Denver
18.45 Mbps download
4.15 Mbp upload

My PC is running Vista SP2, 4 GB RAM, Pentium 4 2.8 GHz. Not lightning fast, but quite adequate for surfing.

What perplexes me is that my system doesn't change from morning to evening, my speedtest.net numbers are pretty steady but EpicSki.com drags in the AM but is fine in the PM.

Hm, it's possible that in the mornings you're seeing slower page loads with some of the ads from our partner networks and by the evening, you've passed the daily caps for those and you're seeing Google Ad fill.  I'll trouble shoot this with our engineering team and ad folks.  If you see any ads that look particularly heavy causing long page loads, please let me know.  Thanks!

I'm using opendns.org and am blocking:

doubleclick.net

yieldmanager.com

I haven't tried unblocking them. Just for G&Gs.

I should have stopped blocking the ads sooner.

Either I conincidentally hit the threshold of ad types and things improved or the javascript looking for the ads was bogging down the page display. I figure the latter was most likely. I'll let you know if tomorrow AM I am still having problems.

Wait, you're saying by ALLOWING the ads, the page is loading faster?  This is with what browser, by the way?
