What kind of pass holder?

For those of you that have ski passes, how do you carry it for display to the lifties? What do you like or dislike about it? I've seen some arm bands  and some that you put in a placard and around the neck - what's best and why? I've also seen some jackets that have a built-in window but mine doesn't.

Thanks,
Ben

I have two passes.  The one for Mt. Baker resides in the built-in window on a flap cover over the zipper of my Marmot shell.  You just flip it over for the lifty to see.

The one for Stevens Pass uses RFID technology to open a turnstile.  You never have to show the pass, the turnstile senses the pass and lets you through.  If they want to see the picture, which is not on the pass itself, they look at a hand held device that displays your photo as you go through.  It was a bit of a pain last year, its first, but it works very well this year.

Mine is attached to a built in d ring sewn to my jacket's front lower edge. I use a metal locking snap hook with a small key ring attached to the plastic pass.

I keep mine on a supplied lanyard. I loop the lanyard through a belt loop, and then stuff the card in my pocket. Easier to me than unzipping to pull my pass out.

Retractable pass holders
under a coat or inside a pocket. We have two passes, back to back. I hate passes flopping while skiing and digging out one on a lanyard sometimes is less than convenient.

my coat has a pocket in the left sleeve.

No window..sometimes they make me take it out but not often

Mine is on a lanyard inside my coat.  Lanyard sticks out of the top of my collar and that's usually good enough for the lifties.  Very rarely have to show it at all.  The lanyard is supplied by 7-Springs and has their logos on it.

Same for me.

Built in pass pocket on the upper arm of my Cloudveil RPK, with no window.  EPIC pass for five areas and have never needed to show it.  They read it with a gun as is.  Ms. Canyonlands has an ID holder (around the neck) and the pass is read through her jacket.  On the RPK, it would be really easy to show someone the pass if that ever needed to happen.  This approach is very handy to me because if I'm skiing, I'm always wearing the RPK.  The pass stays in the jacket.

I have a holder/window built into my jacket

There's a passholder on the inside of my parka at the bottom,  If they ask to see it, I just unzip a little and fold the pass into view,  But the lifties all recognize me and never ask anymore - the closest was the third day of the season when he asked "Got your pass?"  I said ""Yes, I do." and that was that.

//Passes?  We don't need no stinking passes.
