Back when mogul skiers skied real moguls the lines would end. Resulting in the skier either getting spit to another line or having a major mistake. Just think how easy the judges would have if the skiers skied steep courses or over the top of the moguls as the mistakes would increase. If you watched the Olympic Trails and listened to Mosley he talked about mistakes that would deduct from the skiers scores and not about how the skiers where actually skiing. It needs to be more about skiing technique.
Mogul skiing since the beginning has not been able to decide if angulation is good or bad. The truth is that it is good. This could change how the sport is judged. As more angulation is best. Very simple.
Today the turns are a wash for the most part. Have to agree with the Queen but not the 97. Time to ski the moguls.
SVSEF and SVMM promotes skiing all the mountain with techniques that are versatile. In our opinion mogul specific technique has a lot to do with demise of mogul skiing popularity. Some of the hardest habits to break are MST . Hands and elbows in, waiting for the pole plant, where the skis hit the mogul mid way at the bindings, trying to hit the backside of the bump with pole plant and not leading with the skiers COM or bring the body down the hill before the skis.
Pole plant either to the tip of the ski on groomed runs or top of the mogul before the tip opf the ski hits this area.Because the skier will go where the hands go.
Time to take MST's head out of the sand and change before it is to late and some other sport takes moguls out of the Olympics.
