Any lodging between $50-100 for Alta, Solitude and Brighton?

The pricing for dorms in one of those lodges I read on their site, was $140/night!? That's $100 more than one night lodging just to the left of them, at the park city area. Anything more budget oriented in that area of the mountains?

James, did you make it out to UT last year?
The geography is such that those resorts are in the mountains and between them, would mean staying down in the valley, at Sandy or Midvale.  There are plenty of rooms <$100 there.  Personally, I wouldn't stay in a dorm room  at the resort, You might not sleep so well at altitude and a little privacy is helpful.  I would recommend staying in the valley and dealing with that if you are on a budget.

The dorms in LLC include some very good meals with that price, PC doesn't.    In the slow season, you can normally get a Nordic room at the Peruvian for the same price.  The guy that runs the Snowpine posts deals on TGR every once and a while. I haven't stayed there yet, but I've heard nice reviews and I am sure I will end up there during a storm sometime.

Yes, thanks, I flew to SLC January this year! Aside from giving all my cash to two robbers at PC, holding knives at me, I had my best skiing ever. I skied DV, PC (morning till night twice) and the Canyons.

I haven't tried Alta, Solitude and Brighton yet. I am considering these two places for stay, for $50/day, and take the city bus to each resort daily:

I usually stay at one of the extended stay places on Ft Union good deals less than $50 a night.

I also second the Snowpine I did stay there for a week beginningof last April dorms are reasonable during low season, good food, quiet in dorms no problem sleeping, clean and very convienent.

I have stayed at the National9 AKA Discovery Inn and it was decent and convenient.  They have the make your won waffle thing in the morning which I liked.  There is a small lobby area with free coffee and a TV, but the rooms open to the outside-no inside corridors.

James, in fact, if we put you with your all day skiing plus nights under the lights together with my two days of skiing trip to Switzerland, we would probably make swell traveling companions!<g>
