Depends on what "everything my kids want to take me on these days" means.
If that means lots of bumps and trees/OB much of the day, I might try the Mantra or Gotama, but you'll give up a lot on groomers with either of those. If you want to be groomed-ripper biased but with some flexibility for different terrain, I might try the AC-50 or Grizzly as short as you can tolerate for your conditions. Both carve suprisingly well, blast through chop, crud, etc. like a Ginsu, and even have some float. Neither would be great in the trees/bumps but passable if you keep them short, and certainly MUCH better than Racetigers in either situation.
Even for an ex-racer, Racetigers will not enhance your fun over the AC-50 or Grizzly on anything but wide open groomers, and the Tigersharks I demoed this weekend struck me as pointless given the aforementioned choices. On groomers you'd prefer the Racetigers, and on varied terrain you'd likely prefer one of the above 4.
Kaestle MX-88 is very nice too, very versatile, smooth, stable, and almost creamy, but I think the Volkls carve better.
