Looks like about 3" of light snow this morning.  Should freshen things up a little.

Here's another short clip from Monday:

Isn't it amazing how those turn into some of the best days.

Conz,
There are great groomers off both the Needles (Sweet Revenge, Needles run) & Strawberry (Main Street, Elk Ridge) Gondolas that should be great for a solid intermediate.  The light can get really flat in Strawberry, so save it for a sunny day.  There is also a great guide on this website.  It is a few years old, but pretty accurate.
Enjoy,
JF

Thanks 4ster. Looks like a few more inches may fall before i get there Monday. But just this alone was enough to freshen things up some so it should be a good week. Heck any week skiing in Utah and not working is a good week!

looking pretty nice down there. I was torn between watching UMD beat duke tomorrow and the mens DH or skiing myself. This is making it a much harder choice.

lol 4ster save some for when we get there! Boy that looks good.

At least 5" more today, snowed most of the day & better than the last 2 days even with a few more people.

4ster, are Snowbasin and Pow Mow less crowded on weekends than the BCC and LCC resorts? I am guessing so.

Whats a good day to have the place as least crowded as possible? Mid week?

I am primarily at Snowbasin, so I can't really comment on how crowds compare to the other areas.  In general, midweek is still relativley uncrowded.  There is lots of terrain here, but maybe not as many lifts as some of the other areas.

Conz.  If you are worried about crowds on weekends go to Solitude or Brighton.  I wouldn't worry too much about crowds, I always go this coming week(arriving Thurs) and the lines never bother me at LCC or Snowbasin. Plus with the economy, it can't be a boom for the resorts.

Hitting Solitude tomorrow, Alta Wednesday, think Snowbasin Thursday see who wants to go. Was snowing to beat the band at Alta this afternoon. Unbelievable. Middle of last week weatherman called for 2 weeks of high pressure no snow.

Thank you to the Wasatch Snow Gods!!!!!

Yesterday at Snowbasin was (almost) epic. Freshies everywhere. East facing stuff got a bit damp in late afternoon from the serious sun, but great day.

Today was Snowbird and it snowed hard all day. Visibility was Whistler-like (ie non-existent)

Tomorrow is Solitude - let's see.

Snofun we are meeting at Moonbeam 9 am. Vince, Dirk, Daphne and myself. Come on!!!!!!

I was at Alta this afternoon yup it was snowing to beat the band no lie! Took me 1 1/2 hour to get down LCC.

Snowing most of the day at Snowbasin today, although it was a little wet at times.  Could be more Wednesday into Thursday.

The Weather station at Beaver reported only 1.5" in the last 48 hours but it seemed like more to me. Conditions were about perfect for resort skiing. It seemed like every run from on the groomers to in the trees was  hero snow.

Yesterday was freezing fog (frog) & was pretty close to sucking with almost zero visibility at times.  Today was much nicer!

LOL JF. I picked yesterday to go and it sucked, officially. Of course that's the day I pick to go. Rather the conditions sucked and nothing to done about that.

The mountain (from what I could see of it which was not much in the fog) looks like it would be a hoot on a nicd day. Strawberry was open but was a total whiteout so we passed as did everyone else. You could not see your hand in front of your face.

The facilities are just stupendous, almost opulent. Would love to go back just not sure I can this trip...but maybe. Strawberry sounds good. how are the weekend crowds there?

Not bad.  Rarely a line on John Paul & Strawberry is never more than a few minutes.  You were right to pass on Strawberry, easy to get lost when it is like yesterday.  I was conducting a tour in the morning & went home after that.

Headed to Snowbasin for the first time in two weeks.  When you have a moment, can you point me toward the guide on this website?

Thanks!

Aaron, if you look to the reviews of Gear, Resorts and More and drill down to Western U.S. Resorts / Utah you eventually arrive at the reviews http://www.epicski.com/products/snowbasin

There is a wiki at the bottom of the reviews that is the guide.   Since it is a Wiki, it can be updated and edited by any of the members, and it should be a collaborative effort.  I'm looking forward to 4ster adding to it.  This is true of all resorts.
