Kastle Krud Killer

Any body skied both the MX88 and the FX 84 and have an opinion on which one makes a better krud killer? Anybody not skied either one and going to share their opinion anyway? I haven't skied either one, but am feeling the need for something of that nature. Am leaning toward the MX88.

I think the 88 is a better crud killer. The 88 is a stouter/beefier ski with more metal. Being a bit wider, it will go though anything that Stowe will throw at it.

I'm looking forward to getting on the 84 today.  How big of a grin should I expect?

Sounds like someone is building a quiver.

I haven't skied the 84, so I couldn't compare it to the 88.  The 88, however, is as good as a crud ski as I have ever skied in that width. Absolutely unshakable. I expect my 78's to be almost as good, and probably quicker too.

Agree with Dawgcatching,
Haven't skied the 84 but the 88 is smooth and stable on icy groomers - and reasonably quick - I found it quite easy to break from GS turns into shorties. And in sun-baked crud it just blasted through anything in its path. A lot of fun fer sure!

I fell in love with the 88's last year during a week long demo in Aspen. I purchased the 88's this fall and will be on them for the first time this week. Phil had both the 84 and 88 at Wicks. Thanks again Phil for a smooth and happy purchase. Has anybody tried the 108's?

One of the owners of the shop is getting his at the end of the week, in a big-boy 194cm!  I will let you know what he thinks. They were out of my size (184)   My 1010's aren't a bad consolation prize though.

The 84 is more if a finesse ski the 88 is more of a power ski, and if you mouni ti with the KTI plate.....not much will stop it.

As I have mentioned a few other times, the FX is a Cayman, the MX is a 911, and if I remember my 911 series correctly, the 88 w/ a KRI would be like a 911 GT3. ;-)

For the price of a Cayenne Turbo I will happily supply you with one of every ski Kastle makes, yes, in every length. This will allow you to decide for yourself.
