I ski in New England (Sunday River & Sugarbush). I brass brush. Cold weather: I hot scrape 2-3 X to clean with Toko workshop warm wax, Sometimes I'll crayon in some graphite to it. Then, I'll apply Hydrocarbon wax-- Holmenkol Ultramix Blue, Racewax cold, Toko Workshop Cold with Swix CH3 Cold Powder, cold scrape and fiber pad/sanding block to knock down the hairs, spritz in some water, brush, brush, fiberlene, brush with nylon and horsehair brushes--numerous cycles since I don't own a hot box. Sometimes I'll add fluoros and brush with fluoro brushes/corks. I usually paste wax the sidewalls and topsheets.
I repair/tune/wax for my friends and they pay for the gas and food.
Hey, it gives me something to do, it helps me to feel more connected with my skis and I've been given neat tshirts/stickers from Racewax
and Alpine Racing Technology(ARTECH)
that have made me the envy of my male skiing buddies and the object of desire of my female skiing friends.Edited by Vinstant - 12/6/09 at 5:15pm
