Lively thread, eh? SF, you should have no trouble finding a demo pair of Katanas if you choose to go that route (Roy at the Gold Coast Demo center will have them on the mountain). The Kuro may be a different story. I thought the Katana would be one of many good choices for you as to me it feels a bit like the Mantra on steroids; its a stout but nimble, floaty ski that won't punish you if you didn't bring your "A" game that day. But given how quickly the snow can get tracked out and bumped on a powder day I was (and still am) a little gun shy about going the full rocker route @ Squaw. If I hiked a bit and/or had access to untouched stashes of powder I would probably dive right into the full reverse camber approach but based on what I see and ski @ Squaw I think you would be real happy on the Katana. There's a reason the ski is very well represented there.
