Well, you don't have to have been on Epic to know who Glenn Plake is.  Just one of the most influential skiers of all time.  One of the three amigos of Scott Schmidt, Mike Hattrip, and Glenn Plake who introduce North America to extreme skiing through the movie "The Blizzard of Ahs."  And a hell of a skier.

haha, I was watching the Blizzard of Aaahhs just yesterday.  Now I know.  I hope he still has all of those 1 piece ski suits.

The have some ____ bags at Recycle Sports in Frisco. Not used, or if so gently, but they all look very '80s.
I used to like Plake but seeing him in a University of Oregon jacket is a real turn-off.  I thought he had more taste than that.

Sounds so nasty when you say it.

But you should probably check the sarcasmometron.  (Hopefully.)

Another who thought he'd left us for the great pillowline in the sky....

Plake has gone to the dark side, a duck suit.

Hope that he and the locals all had a great day.

Off thread but was at Crystal Mt yesterday, groomer day and bluebird.  2 guys ripping it up wearing Austrian team unis.  Don't know who they were, but they were fast!

Isn't it obvious?  That was his incognito Gaper disguise!

I have to wear one too otherwise I would be mobbed at every public resort.

In light of the civil war game today, I am going to have to say "F*@k the Ducks!" It kills me to see Plake wearing their colors. Go Beavers!

There are a few, admittedly a very few, who don't give a rat's ass about big name skiers, or ski movies, just so long as we have mountains and snow and skis.  Gotta give thanks to those who may have influenced ski design; we can all use better skis even if we don't know how they came about.
Yeah, most of the people up there had no idea who he was; either that, or the incognito design worked very well.  You just don't see guys skiing Flatchelor, ripping up a stout zipper line like it is a green groomer every day.  Actually, I don't remember ever seeing that here.   He and some other people were goofing around with some old 80's ski moves, and the dude on the chair was like "what is it, 80's retro day or something?"     Wish he would have stopped by the shop for a promo beer-drinking session though; we are the only Elan dealer around!

I am an OSU grad   Great game though, I planned on going, then remembered that my wife's B-day was also on the 3rd. Since she was born in Japan (18 hours ahead) we should have celebrated on the 2nd instead!  Didn't think of that until it was too late.

Mr. Plake was seen @ Hoodoo yesterday. I really don't give a s^%$ about celebs of any kind, but I do think G.P. seems like a regular guy and would of like to of meet/skied a run with him. OSU grad. State animal is the Beaver.
