Hi Folks

Thanks so much to those who replied to my post about the Stinger vs the Scarab jackets by Arc'teryx.  Once I have the new shell (think it will be the Stinger), I will be looking at layers. I already have a 260 weight Icebreaker base layer, Under armour micro fleece, Helly Hansen thick fleece, and Icebreaker expedition weight sweater. I can usually mix them up for the weather of the day (but too bulky for all at once).  I am looking at the feasability of adding a down sweater for the really fridgid days (perhaps as the only layer between the base and shell-eg. Patagonia or Mountain Equipment Co-op).  Has anybody tried these?  I am wondering particularly about the breathability factor or would moisture stop at the down layer.

Thanks for any insight,
