What skis are for me?

I am a 15 year old boy looking for a pair of skis that I can use in the terrain park but also compete in school races and ski casually downhill in. I am looking to spend around 400-500 dollars on these skis. I am 5'5 and around 140 pounds. Any help would be highly appreciated.

The park is a lot different than racing...I think I would look for some decent used race skis and then some cheap used twin tips to bang around the park.

I agree with MEfree30....with 4-5 hundred bucks you could get some great skis for the park, and some great racing boards. Shop wisely and you might be able to find 1 or both new.

It comes in real handy having more than 1 pair of skis. If there are rocks showing, you may not want to ski the race boards...park skis are tough, sidewalls beefy to hold extra thick, hard-steel edges. Race skis are for race and practice, in or out of gates. Park skis are fun everywhere but the race course.

There no way one ski will work for you. Everthing that you want in a race ski is almost evething you don't want in a park ski. The first time you rail your ski, it will no longer be tuned for racing, and way to much work to retune.

Go to a ski swap, fine some used skies.
