Guys, the chains I spoke about are more accurately called cables, because they surround the wheel with fitted cables that arre also adjustable, and there are cross-cables that keep it all on the tire and act as your traction.. Very good for short term use like a ski trip.
They are sized by checking the size tire on the car - it's right in the tire itself. We bought ours right in So. Lake, 35.00, guy installed them in probably 15 minutes. If you want to do it yourself go ahead, but it's dirty and wet.. AND the yknow what they're doing, you don't.

We HAVE purchased them at the airport in Reno when renting, but they're everywhere.
