Pack Straps too long...suggestions?

I recently picked up a Heli Pro from the dock. The adjustment straps are WAY TOO LONG...all of them. Anybody have a solution? I have thought of cutting off the extra, velcro, rubber bands...

As soon as you cut them off, you will need longer straps.  That's an immutable law of packs.

Figure out how much you need, then roll up the rest, and bundle it somehow.  Use elastics, or zip ties.  You will end up with all these little dangles, but you will have the straps when you need them.

And someday, you will need them.

Had the similar problem with a pack my kids gave me last year.  Went to my neighborhood dry cleaner/seamstress.  For about $10 it was all fixed very pro looking job; she even added a chest strap.  They have the tools and the talent.

Good ideas, thanks.

Yes, I am sure that after measuring twice and cutting once I would end up too short, right when I REALLY need the length.

Stranger...What did the drycleaner/seamstress actually do with the straps?

It's tricky - I've cut mine twice and they're still too short.  Guess I'll have to do it again.

Took my $10 dollars and said it would be ready Thursday.

Shortened up the pulls on the shoulder straps.  Sewed on the leftovers to make my chest strap using a snap lock I brought in. She made everything look very ship shape.

If your problem is in the padded part of the straps they may have to be a bit more creative.  If they can fix-up a wedding dress they ought to be able to handle our packs.

I just use electrical tape after I've rolled up the strap a bit.

I just tuck the too long shoulder straps under the waist band on my Heli Pro,

I just picked up a Heli Pro (from eBags) too and I'm afraid I'm going to have the same problem.  I guess I'll start sorting it out next week.
Great suggestions in this thread.  Thanks.
