Watea 94s - What length?

Hi all. I ski mostly east coast with a couple of trips out west each year and am looking to pick up some skis that will handle the softer stuff a little better than my AC30s.  I'm 6ft tall, 195 lbs and a fairly aggressive skier.  I love my AC30s (177cm) for the hard pack that I mostly wind up skiing, but they aren't really at their best when there's more than a couple of inches of fresh snow.  Add to that that I would like to do more tree skiing than the limited amount that I've done to date (say, 40 or 50% of my time off the groomers), and I'm about ready to add another ski to my current quiver of one.

From the research I've done, the Watea 94 seems like it would be a good choice for me. I have an opportunity to pick up a pair for a good deal at either 186 or 178.  I'm thinking 186cm is probably the right size for me.  Any thoughts?  Also, am I on the right track with the Wateas?  Is there something else that would be better suited for me?

I'm very close to your size (6', 200) and I'm pretty happy with my 186's.  I think they're a pretty good soft snow, off-trail ski, and if you're going to be using them pretty exclusively when there's new snow or when you're off-piste, I don't think you'd want to go with the 178's.  With AC30's to complement them, I think it'd be a pretty decent quiver for you.

I am 5'11" and 155-160# live in the Rockies and have the 186cm Watea 94 and have only skied this pair one time and have found them to be good in the "deep"  but too long for tight or steep conditions. I intend to sell them and get the 178 cm.

Thanks for the responses.  After a little more research (unfortunately I won't get a chance to demo) I think I'm going to go with a pair of Blizzard Argos instead.  From the revews I've read, these sound like they'll be a little more versatile given my needs - basically a one ski quiver for west cost trips.

I'm thinking the 180s are probably right for me with the Argos.  I was considering 187s, but that might be overkill for me (6ft, 195 lbs).  What do you think?  Go with the 180s?

Personally at your size I would go with the longer ones but only you can decide for yourself.
