At $600 a pair, durability is a concern. Are they prone to breakage, or do they withstand falls and the hazards of skiing? Are they reliable, or does the cable break or derail on the pulley, etc.?
Can they be used by an accomplished skier in all terrains and conditions, or are they just a band-aid to get you down the blue and green groomers? If used on more challenging terrain, do they snag on trees, brush, etc? Do they cause erratic skiing by pitching you forward in certain situations?
Any information on alternatives that reduce upper body weight on knees, like spring-loaded knee braces, would be of interest, too. I apologize if this topic is already covered; it didn't turn up in a quick search. Please guide me to the correct links if it has. Thanks -
