There is some great NE backcountry. But it is not close to comparable with the opportunities the West presents.
Which pretty much sums it up inbounds or outside the rope.
Lets face it. Most guys in the West have never skied the East (unless they migrated from there) and never will. As a group, we aren't aren't that the East sucks or even that it is bad- I think it was summed up best by the statements that we just don't think about it.
If anything, picking on East Coast skiing by saying it sucks or whatever just seems kind of pointless. It would be like a guy that bought a Corvette trying to drag race every Impala he sees at every stoplight. What is the point exactly? Just because the Corvette may be the superior performance machine doesn't make the Impala a bad car (though I'm not saying it is a good one) and doesn't mean that somebody can't have a lot of fun driving their Impala.
On the flipside, the guy rolling around in the Impala challenging every Vette they see is also pretty damned pointless.
That said, this is obviously a September thread rolling into october due to the delayed season, so regardless of how pointless it is, I won't be able to resist joining the pissing contest.
