I know your trolling...
first whiteface is lame - vertical drop doesnt not make a ski area. vail has much more than snowbowl and sits much higher than snowbowl but I would rather ski at snowbowl than vail because vertical drop and total elevation are lames thing to base the skiing experience off of.
as for alpinism
does not say anything about how high their total elevation has to be, I am willing to bet on alot of days its harder to get the top of Mount Washington, Or Katahdin than alot of much higher summits. Not to mention most east coast mountains have bigger vertical prominence than alot of west coast mountain. Mount Washington is mean mother despite only 6200 feet of summit elevation.
In the end it really does not matter. Your never going to come back east to ski. I think Segbrown is the only bear I have ever talked to that has plans to come back east to ski. In my book she gets props. People who bash the east coast and never come back east. All I have to say is this from high horse that I have to ride. You couldnt keep up with us here if your tried and we will have no problem skiing with you out west on your easy mountain.
Of course I'm trolling, I am sure there is plenty of great skiing in the East.
Of course, you'd rather ski Snowbowl than Vail, I don't take you for an idiot. The Bowl is the real deal.
Of course I will never go to the East, let alone go skiing there, I am a sane person.
Of course I couldn't keep up with you, you're almost twenty years younger than me, and are one of a tiny fraction of a percentage of skiers who ski more often than I do. I know lots of skiers who I usually can't keep up with. But what does that have to do with the East sucking so very bad? Why does it suck so bad?
Edit: I am really enjoying this epic thread!
