Hey guys and girls.

Some buddies and I from Australia are travelling around North American resorts in an RV. We are looking for people to join us, either on our trip for a bit, to show us their local resort or just to have a beer with us. We just want to meet people, any where anyhow.

If you are planning a trip and need some accommodation/a ride, and dont mind 3 Aussies tagging along, let us know and we will probably come and pick you up.

We will be filming the whole thing to try and make a documentary of the North American winter, for more of an idea of what we are trying to acheive visit www.trippingonroads.tk.

Sorry if this was a bit spam-like, we are from Australia and so have no other way of meeting or getting in contact with locals from North America.

Thanks Matt.

 Hello Matt.
Welcome to Epic. I'm sure that lot's of friendly, enthusiastic folk will take you up on your offer. Surprised that I'm the first to reply to your posting.

Try hanging around in bars. Even better if you are young and attractive, but will still garner interesting results even if you're old and funky, like me.

You can tell by my home location that I hardly qualify as a ski-town local, but I'm heading to the Rocky Mountains a few times this season, am reasonably familiar with some nice spots, and would be glad to show you around and hoist a few.

BTW, I've not been on Epic that long, think this is about my 3rd season, but for the past few years I've had the pleasure of hooking up with many-score Bears and enjoyed their company mightily. Be wary though, some Bears are dangerous to ski or drink with.

I believe that you need a minimum of 5 posts to send and receive Private Messages, but when you've reached that lofty pinnacle, drop me a line and I'll get back to you with contact info should you so desire. I'll also post up my travel plans when my trips get close, and many others on the forum will do the same. In the meantime, you're off to a good start.

Cheers and best wishes.

Welcome trippingonroads, you guys are in for an adventure.  Was in the motorhome business for 30+ years almost always in snow country.  Out of the industry now but still know  a bit.

If you want any ideas on your stead holler.  An example of things that help: carry a box of rock salt, when the temperature gets real low dump a couple of handfuls down the drains and turn them into the ocean and not freeze up.

I'm an hour south of Seattle, and skiing Crystal mostly these days.  It opens this week by the by.  Shout out if your going to be in the neighborhood.

When you get to the Colorado resorts (Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mtn, etc.) give me a shout.  I'm always up for a beer at least.

A general itinerary would be helpful as well.

If you want to ski NA's ski area with the most snowfall, drop me a line when you get close to Mt. Baker in Washington.

That's what I really wanted, but I can tell they don't want to be nailed down too much.  I was hoping at least for a general route.....  Although I am sure whatever plan they have will be abandoned within a week.

sibhusky and posaune.
don't really have an itinerary as such, gonna play it buy ear. We will be around pretty much all season, so I guess everywhere. We have two plans for now, Vegas for New Years, and I have some mates who will be in whistler for australia day (26 January), and being aussies we will definately be in the place with the highest concentration of Australians in the world outside australia.
But we pretty much want to go everywhere possible.
ScotsSkier, thanks mate, will definately do that!

Check out the thread on the 2010 Epic Gathering in Utah Jan 31 - February 6.  Lots of people to link up with there.

Whsitler for Aussie day is pretty much an epic event, with bars getting permits to open early, and importing VB for the event.
