I was reading some stuff on ski runs and ran across this website. It should be amazing if it actually comes to fruition. According to the website they are building one in China right now and one is in the works in Dallas, Texas.

That thing looks friggin sweet!  It would be fun to shred it when they crank it all the way up.

It will be even more fun when they start getting wipe-outs...

Yep, they'll have to shut down the whole contraption for every yard sale. Downtime could get lengthy if someone actually gets hurt in a crash.

I'm thinking that there's stuff going on underneath the mountain (snowmaking and grooming come to mind) that would make it unsafe to ride all the way around while trying to get oneself gathered up and reassembled.

The nice thing about chair lifts is that the uphill traffic isn't in the way of the downhill traffic.

From what I read the whole thing is, if you want to go up, you stand on the outside of the circle and the skiers occupy the rest of the slope.

Anybody else remember those amusement park rides where the person on the outside gets slammed against the outside wall?
