Scratch doesn't need to be too deep for ptex in my opinion. First thing to do is clean up the scratch(if its undercut.. open it, make sure its dry and clean). Get the tip of the ptex stick on fire, or just slowly heat with a torch (I suppose both are fine if done with care). Make sure if it is the clear ptex that you mess around with it before dripping it on your ski (there is a black deposit that will make your base look ugly, so use a piece of cardboard to roll the ptex over when it begins to get ash in it). I'm not sure if your in a shop or not, but after application I just run the ski/board over the base sander.
I don't feel like wax is actually going to fill a scratch for long?
