I like ogling and skiing by all the high dollar real estate.  I like that it is close and easy to get to - that is for me as compared to the other northeast mountains I tend to skI like teh burgers at Smokey Joe's on the deck.  Otherwise it would rank much lower down for the usual reasons of lack of challenge, too many groomers, too crowded, etc.

Fair enough.

Killington: terrain variety, exceptional snow making & grooming, abundant tree skiing, enough terrain left au natural, great grub in the Peak Lodge (nothing like oysters on the 1/2 shell & a lobster roll at 4,000ft.), season length, affordable midweek pass, spring tailgating.

Lots of other places I like but K is my favorite. Lot's of other places I don't like but that's not what this thread is about.

Our club used to sponsor jumps there. Prior to Bear Mtn the jump was located in Rosedale, NY.

Here are my own personal favourite and least favourite:

Favourite:

  1. Mont Ste-Anne, QC:  Absolutely, positively the best terrain in eastern North America
  2. Burke Mountain, VT:  Always great conditions and no crowds
  3. Massif du Sud, QC:  The fat ski capital of the East.  Lots of snow.  Fabulous glades
  4. Cannon Mountain, NH
  5. Sugarbush, VT
  6. Sugarloaf, ME
  7. Sunday River, ME
  8. Sutton, QC:  Glades, very little grooming, narrow classic runs.
  9. Whiteface, NY

Least Favourite

  1. Tremblant, QC:  Crowded, Often icy and too many flats.  Way overpriced.
  2. Smugglers Notch, VT.  Maybe it is me, but every time I went, the conditions sucked!
  3. Killington, VT:  Too crowded!

My favorites are Loon, NH, Bromley, in VT and Gore in NY.
