Are Your Skis "Cool"? - Page 3

I like the skulls too.  I got several skulls and some LED tea candles in 3 packs from the dollar store.  A few seconds with the drill and the hot glue gun and now they light up in the dark for under $1.50 each.  I gave a few out to my friends this Halloween.

As for the ski length...  I used to ski too long and was forced to re-evaluate what I needed as I changed my skiing and improved.  The 168s are on the short end for me I bought them for my wife as an AT candidate, she didn't want them so I put on the 02s and had some fun.  I got the 176s when they came along for $50.  I can ski about any length, but found that the longer skis didn't offer the advantages I thought they did as my stance and balance improved and I started skiing more 2 footed.

Hey Phil, got a photo of my "Lady Harts"? Won at a raffle at esa Big Sky.
Course, that's pronounced "laddy" in the liftline.
About as uncool a graphic as you can get. The shape/construction is pretty cool though. Or so I hear...

Just purchased a pair of 178 Nordica afterburners.  Cool?  Maybe, graphics seem unique, however I'm really concerned about chomping through the miday crud out here in Eastern PA and the afterburners shine in that respect!

Heh, I will get one today. Do you need them drilled for any binding? I can do that before I bring them up.

I was tempted to get them and mount them on my 102's.

Absolutely. They even get the attention of snowboarders!

184cm 161/121/141 20m radius

I got them for their cool factor, their flotation was secondary. They ski great!

There is the legend on the ski (under the binding):

Quote:
Famous Slovenian fresco from Hrastovlje, painted in 1490:

Who are we and where are we going?

Death is leading by hand the rich and poor, the emperor, pope, king, ordinary man, beggar and a baby to the final equalizer, the grave.

As runner up:

Unskied by me, but I'm looking forward to it. 200cm 104/81/92

What do you have for bindings/plates? maybe I should put a demo on them or a Vist.
Hey, which Elan is the silver one? Is that the 666? It's like the Stockli VXL, no? I forget what you said.

I had a pair of those Heli Guides with a tele binding around 98 or so.  Also in a 200 cm.  Pretty fun ski

I don't have any VISTs. If you went that way, I would say a Speedlock Race.

As TC said they are Elan 888's a very nice ski at 88 underfoot.

My "skies" are gray, overcast, and raining right now.  That isn't cool at all so I must be an awesome skier with very cool "skis".

^^Nice^^  brabson was skiing on his 78s with me at Sugar last Sunday (after we confirmed the coverage was decent enough to ski our "good skis").  Those are a fantastic ski for this region

I think my Fischer RX 6 skis are still cool, 4 years later.  I love the color and the look.  Considering they've now discontinued the model maybe they're not "cool" anymore but they are to me!

THANKS DAWG!

Love the bindings; reminds me of my first non-hand-me-down ski jacket back in the late 80's!
