I wonder what the public will think of my approach. I'm 130lb 5'6", live for the steeps of Utah on powder days but do most of my skiing on the East coast where there don't seem to be many trails steep enough to brag about. Instead of picking a stiff ski in short length I went Dynastar 4x4 ATVs in 186. I wanted the extra length for better float in the powder when I get it, and since the stiffness / rebound is medium intensity, I can get the edge down without problems. I've tried them shorter, (on a groomer day) and the edge hold wasn't that good. Anyway, point being: every website tells me that for my size and ability I should have never went over 170 on those things, but I felt the best on 186. Why is that?
