Old Racer/coach coming back to coaching (age 6-17). Looking for good schedules examples

Hi all,

Having 3 of my daughters in the ski club, I accepted the task of "team manager".

I prefer to say manager than head coach, because I'm hiring 2 young coaches to work with the young athletes for the intro and development level. They both seem to be competent, they have recent racing background and have level II and III CSIA- CSCF .
My task will be to accomplish the paper work, and make shure we hit our objective.

My question is, I am looking to find some good examples of what KNOWN ski academies or clubs are doing when planning christmas camps (around 12-14 days/skiing). I'm curious on how they separate  snow work: between free skiing, SL, GS, and speed

Any link is welcome

Cheers,

Dad

Check out AIM2:

Your coaches should also be familiar with this material.  Planning seasonal camps is a required element of DL (Level 2) coach training.

One other comment regarding the combination of events -- I've never seen an age-group camp myself that includes SL, GS and SG/DH in the same camp.  Speed camps are usually run separate from SL/GS.

The CSCF runs speed camps that are worth looking into:

Here's a sample outline of a 5-day speed camp:

AM
PM
Indoor Session
Day 1
Downhill safety.
Technical Free Skiing
High speed SG
Course setting, inspection and training progressions.
Safety and communication protocols
Speed technique and aerodynamics
Video
Day 2
Super G training and mentoring.
Super G training and mentoring.
Tactical approach to Super G
Setting for DH and SG
Video
Day 3
Super training and mentoring.
Super G training, tapering and mentoring.
Mental training and management
Support to athletes in training
Speed Workbook
Video
Day 4
Downhhill safety.
Course setting, inspection and training.
DH inspection, training and mentoring.
Tactical approach to DH
Support athletes in competition
Video
Speed workbook.
Day 5
Downhill training and mentoring.
DH training, tapering and mentoring.
Video
Review.

I was looking for this document !

Thanks, mogulmuncher.

And, yes, of course, speed camp will be separate from christmas period camp, both for intro and dev. levels.

Thanks for pointers.
