Typing is a skill I suck at but I have a level of skill at it. Although very low.
Now you wish to measure the effectiveness of that skill towards an intent ? Would that be an error or a low level of skills ?
Who's to say it's not good skiing TC. It's all in the eye of the beholder and those who worry what they look like. Those who strive for perfection and those who strive to improve must seek out instruction. Those who have reached a comfort level within their own personna and seek adventure and the unknown instead of impressing those who watch and critique are just as equal.
I do not begrudge anyone for seeking improvement in their skiing for whatever reason as long as they keep in mind that perfection is never acheived, but greatness is a state of mind that we should seek out for ourselves not to convince others. This is no error.
Building a house with a foundation in clay can have no consequences as long as the footer and reinforcment is proper for the size of the house. I see where you're going with that. You must have a good foundation to build on for the end result to be enjoyable. But even with houses, that foundation doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough.
I've been skiing for 54 years. I've seen technology and techniques change so much over the years. I've adapted to the changes but in ways that suit my skiing to meet my expectations and my personal enjoyment. It's not perfect skiing in the eyes of certain people but it is perfect for me and it is fun. To me, that's what it's all about.
