Who wants Marco Sullivan's old 30-DIN Marker clamps?

So GGH over on "the other forum" is getting rid of a set of Marco Sullivan's old 30-DIN world cup bindings.  They're gorgeous, minty and in perfect shape and he can't find anyone who wants to put their feet in the damn things.  Figuring one of you gate-crashing edge bevel junkies would know a guy who knew a guy who would actually want a set of the all metal greensprings, I wanted to pass the word along.  He's only looking to get like $175 for them which is a steal if you're actually going to use it.

There's got to be a racer on here that could put these to good use.  Don't let them become a paper weight.  Phil?  Got a hole in the collection?

Heck, I think paying someone $175 to take those is a pretty good deal. I have no idea why anyone would even think twice.

Especially not when they have only been out there for 20 months......

I rode the lift last year at Okemo with guy that was wearing M30's...Some NHU racer, he said he had them set at 22 (21 wouldn't hold I guess), there is no place at Okemo that you can get even close to the speeds that would be needed to get these things to come close to releasing at 22 let alone 25-30. I'd love these for my collection, but aren't worth 175 to me, I will stick to the older stuff.

What does the chart say the release torque is at DIN 22?

It is somewhere between a Mack and a Kenworth.

Why don't they just bolt the boots directly to the ski at that point?

So a Marker 30 is like a Rossignol 12, right?

Wow, JPH- this is getting scary!  Are you drinking coffee right now too???

Phil, it's good to hear you rode the lift with Chaos, but how could you not know Okemo is the gnarest locale south of Revy.  Everybody knows that!  I bet he ripped Jackson Gore a new one!

Prickly I was laughing yesterday about the same thing, but figured there just might be somebody on here who would appreciate a piece of equipment like that.  I can't even imagine the speeds one would have to be moving along at to even release from them should an accident occur...  It makes my knees hurt just thinking about it.

It's funny when you're watching SG or DH on tv and it looks like fun, then you see JUST THE BINDINGS that those athletes wear and it gets scary- I could be nowhere near the course and if my feet were in those damn things, I'd be shittin' kittens.

It's all just in another world at that level. I read a story in a ski magazine a few years back about a former NCAA racer who visited the Lange factory and tried on a pair of Meier's boots. He couldn't flex them at all, at room temperature.

I myself am very proud of the fact that I skied most of a season recently on a pair of slalom skis that had seen World Cup action (though whether in actual race duty or training, I dunno). Course they were a woman racer's leftovers, and she probably weighs like 100 pounds, but still...

HA!  Nice admission, I like that.

Yeah, I'd bet big Herm's boots have a flex somewhere between "Granite" and "Inconel"...

I hear when you put the binginds on, you grow a beard INSTANTLY!

Din 30 is nothing..... i know of a certain ripping free skier that used to steal his dad's world cup din 30's for his jib skis before he got his own binding sponsor.

Yeah, and he got two pairs and just mounted all four heels. Tossed the toes.

UNH kids are crazy, do remember. A handful of them will be USST when they graduate this year, so a high DIN like that seems reasonable.

Have you skiied on the Chief SG/DH course? The speeds there get insane, esp with the downward winds. I remember a SG that I ran there last year and I was going the same speed, if not faster than I reached in the Sugarloaf DH's.

I'd take em, but I already have a pair, lol. $175 seems a tad steep too. I got mine for $60 barely used.

What the hell was he thinking not taking 150 bucks?!?!?!

I am a disabled sit-skier and only use din 30 bindings cranked to the max because I never want to come out of the binding.
If yo still have the bindings I will be glasd to have them.
