We won't have to wait long to see if that statement will hold up will we?

Is Madonna going to the games?
Yanks are definitely heavily favored,  highest payroll on baseball versus the second lowest.  I'll be happy if the Twins can win one game.  The first pro baseball game I ever saw was Twins vs Yanks at the old Met Stadium.  I was in 5th grade.

Unfortunately, it appears A-Rod is out of his slump/  Oh well, I'd rather lose to the Yankees than to toe Red Sux  Congrats to the Bronx Bombers.  I guess I like the Yanks better than everyone else still alive.

P.S.  should the Twinkees bounce back in the 8th and 9th I take all that back!

I'd be somewhat leary about the Angels. The Yanks always seem to have trouble with them. I'd have rather played the Dead Sox.

Hopefully, we will continue the winning ways.

How poetic would it be for the Yanks to face their former manager, Joe Torres?

Yeah, the Yankees have had problems with the Angels and West Coast swings in general. As a fan, I always breathe a sigh of relief when the 3 out of 5 round is over. You go out to the Coast in that round and anything can happen. 4 out of 7 it's much more likely the better team wins.

Interesting to ponder the knock-on effect of the pickups the Yankees made in the offseason, and here I'm thinking only about pitchers. All three of the guys who started in the first round were offseason additions (Pettite a slightly different story than the other two, in that he re-signed, but still).

But the real interesting effect is on the bullpen. Because the Yankees have the luxury of signing the Sabathias and Burnetts of this world, they can keep Phil Hughes in the bullpen and roll him out in the eighth inning, game over. And now they can keep Joba in the bullpen too. Very few other teams in baseball could afford to keep two great arms like that in the bullpen, not even as  closers!

Thinking about the Angels: anyone still want to do Ervin Santana and Chone Figgins for A-Rod? Didn't think so.

The Yankee sweep is God's way of telling you to buy my Districts.

God told me to get a similar Elan model instead with bindings that fit my BSL.  I will try to help you find a buyer though as they are still a great deal
