ISIA Card

I just got my level 3 and I would like to know how someone can get the ISIA card. I search their web site and this one but no one give me a strait answer. It is mentioned in this forum that the level 3 PSIA is recognized as ISIA. On their web site it is required that someone master a second snow discipline, is it mandatory?

Hi Frenchie--

For PSIA, give the National office in Denver a call. They should be able to get you started. It's pretty easy once you have the required national certification (which I see you have--congratulations again!). I am not aware of the requirement to master a second discipline. If it's a requirement, it's a new one.

Good luck. Please follow this up with an update once you find the facts--I'm curious.

Best regards,
Bob Barnes

Congrats!

PSIA in Denver is very helpful in handling the matter.

I did it last spring and no mention was made of a second discipline.

This topic set off a rash os discussion last spring about the requirements here vs. other countries.

Bob, Sorry to come back to you so late but it is relatively painless to get your ISIA card. You go on PSIA national web site: psia.org and you look at the FAQ and they describe the process and tell you which form to download and fill out. You fill the form, you pay the fees and you wait for your passport and stamp to be mail to you. The passport will last you a few years and the stamp need to be renew every years.

the IISA site has mentioned it for a couple of years - the aussie guys have all been required to do it for the last two years or so....

CM posted the link to the part of the IISA site it is hidden on a year or so ago ... I think in a thread where Rusty Guy was asking the same stuff... seems no-one but me read the link then????
