I've been trying to bite my tongue, knowing that these events are fundraisers, but really, WME has to go. They have stepped over the line with their lawsuit against Warren Miller himself.

I'm even cancelling my free subscriptions to ski and skiing as a protest.

Okay, so hey, I was looking at your postings and I want to share a few things...

#1: the cost for the show is $10 for students (all students) $15 for adults
#2: I understand that some folks are upset with the lawsuit, i get that, but this is about raising money for a high school ski team without going out and asking for money. We provide an opportunity to see a great film (trust me, this year's film is a good one) and they get to support a local program. We get no funding from our high school and we need to raise close to $7000 to pay for transportation to and from practice. this show raises close to 80% of that....
#3: as for the racing at mt. brighton, it is better than you would expect. Not everyone is located so close to a mountain

check out our website www.elskiing.com to learn more about our show and all the great things we give away to those who support our program...such as: free or discounted lift tickets to Crystal Mountain, Boyne, Crystal and Caberfae Peaks. We have lots of donations from local and national businesses to give away to guests.

What we try to do is have a winter kick off event and also help support our team.

Please, feel free to PM me to ask any questions or raise any concern you may have. I simply want to help support my team and allow them the opportunity to enjoy ski racing and learn a lifelong sport that will make the athletes better in the long run!

Hi Hugh, I live in Cadillac Michigan and attend the WME movie at our local school each year because I believe in the "cause" that puts it on.....For our community its the Cammy Potter Foundation.

Like many others, I am annoyed by the actions of WME against Level 1, but that won't likely stop me from attending the WME showing when it comes to our town......the reason......Cammy Potter Foundation.

Hugh I wish the East Lansing Ski Team all the best in raising funds through this annual event

As for those who have an opinion to voice on the WME action, please do so in this thread.  Will you go see Warren Miller Entertainment productions Please leave this GTG invitation for its intended purpose.

Edit: Do you get a decent attendance being that the date of the showing is the day before the most respected holiday in Michigan......the opening day of Fire Arm Deer Season?

Saw it in Portland OR on 10-24, it's one of the better ones in the last few years, more skiing and less snowboarding. There is one snowboarder that will break the hearts of most gents in the audience though, enjoy!

I recently saw the film here in Denver for $24. The (very limited) free pass voucher is cool, but strictly speaking about the film, I thought it was not that great. A lot of story and silly commentary from people who didn't seem to have anything important to say. The skiing was awesome, but there wasn't that much of it! They included some sick snowboarding footage, I found it funny that those shots were the biggest crowd pleasers! I think some other films from Matchstick, etc, offer a better experience, IMHO.
