I have friends who won't go out until the cover is solid. I'm the type of person who will go and then realize that there's not enough snow. Early and late season offer some fun skiing, but it can be tough on the equipment. Last season at Killington we walked though streams, tip-toed over rocks and walked on the grass, sometimes with the skis on. At Jiminy, the center of the trail had good coverage while the edges were terrible.
Are set up to ski when the cover is thin? I guess my rock skis are my Top Fuels. Still need a replacement though.
