New Gear Site

We have just launched a new ski gear site for anyone interested in seeing a rundown of almost all alpine and backcountry ski gear available this season. All major brands are covered and a few minor ones too.
We are trying to provide a useful resource for buyers and dreamers. Please let us know if there is something missing, we welcome any constructive feedback that can make Rocky Mountain Gear Guide better. Check out www.rockymountaingearguide.com

You seem to require membership just to browse--as a rule I stay away from sites with this policy.
Sorry.

Thanks for the prompt and frank feedback. After two days it's clear that you are not the only one that feels that way so we have decided to drop the registration firewall and give readers the option of signing up for updates later. We'll see how that works.

Great looking new site!  Very comprehensive and informative.  Nice to have one spot where you can find virtually all products from all the manufacturers.

I tried to join, but the page giving the details of membership benefits doesn't lead you to how to actually sign up.  I went to the "contact us" page and left a message, but don't think that will register me.

I just started a new facebook Group for skiers called DESERTSNOWJUNKIES.  I'll go ahead and add your site as a link.

Thanks for the feedback Fritz, and the link. We just changed the sign up procedure today and obviously something isn't working. I'll submit the problem and we'll try fix it tonight.

Not bad.

I noticed when I clicked on the "tested" link to the Fischer WC SC, that the description in the box seems to be for the WC SL (no matching notch in the tail is shown on the pic of the WC SC).

I think the site needs some work. The review for the Nordica Helldiver CA was...

http://www.rockymountaingearguide.com/buyersguide/nordica/tested-hr-pro-helldiver-ca.htm

off base.

It describes the Helldiver as woman's ski with a 70mm waist.

That's because real men ski the HR Helldiver TI , and the 70 mm is a typo; 90 mm appears twice on the page.  You should subject the site to a tech review before giving it to us for a peer-review.  It does seem to have a few too many errors for public consumption.

Overall though, a pretty good site.

That site looks like a lot of work!  Congratulations.  It's pretty well done, excepting for the few errors mentioned and probably a few more.  Hopefully we can catch them quickly. You might want to put the skis in alphabetic order in a side bar menue  or something; I  had trouble finding Dynastar after looking at the Fischers.

I'm sorry to say I agree with Ghost, too many errors for public consumption. This is our first attempt and we had a problem going from writer to webmaster and then not thorough enough proofing. I just went through all tests again and found a few more typos. Hopefully this version will be accurate. Your tolerance and patience is much appreciated.
