A trip up the E ridge of the Grand Teton:

From the top:

Next up, a trip to the Wind Rivers:

Then some rafting on the Snake:

My kids have better hucking form than me:

Back to the Tetons for more climbing, this was right before I almost got gored by a moose:

Symmetry Spire, 6-7 pitches of good climbing:

This view of the Cathedral group never gets old:

That's all for now.

Yes.  Wyoming is Heaven.  I have thought that for some time now, and you just confirmed it!

very nice.  I love that portion of the state.  We usually take a fall trip to YNP/GTNP, but am missing it this year to go to Scotland and hike the West Highland Way.  I'll miss my home state, though.

ZZZ,

Nice summer, eh?
I have friends who rave about the Wind River Range, now I can see why.

Fantastic report, ZZZ.

I was in the park yesterday looking up at that east-face snowfield right below the summit.  It looks very, very cool in your photos.

Great trip and thanks for the report.

Do it! The first time I climbed it we used the Owen Spaulding route, car to car in about 13 hours. The East Ridge took almost 23 hours car to car, looooong route. And that is moving the whole time. We even beat the time that 3 Exum guides did it in a few days before (according to my friend who guides with Exum).

Came around a cormer on the trail and all I see is two big eyes with my headlamp. My first thought was Grizz. We were probably 10 feet away. I then noticed the antlers and for a split second was a little more comfortable. Then the moose grunted at me and kind of stomped his feet. We backed off and waited a while but he wouldn't budge off the trail so we had to cross country though the brush to get around him. We gave him a wide berth.
