John Cena beat Lesner, but had to settle for a DQ and no title. Look at that, finally a Carolina touchdown. Sloppy messy football. Now it's starting to rain here.
Steelers Baby! - Page 27
Wow, I never saw that coming. Steelers run for 250+ yards against the Panthers D? The Steelers D held up pretty well even after 3 starters were injured. I think Ben passed for about 200 yards too. You sure the Panthers made the playoffs last Year?
I actually prefer things here when the Carolina home team sucks. That way it is easier to get tickets to go see teams I REALLY like play
Turned the game off and went to bed after the punt fumble LOL...
No Steeler fan three weeks ago would have thought the Steelers and Ravens would be playing for first place in the division. Steelers now among the top 3 teams in the AFC. Game balls to both Ben and James. Harrison looking like his old self * and Kiesel too. Both players out of football at the start of the season and both playing lights out. The real story has been second year running back Bell, 8 consecutive games with 100 yards from scrimmage coming into this game and 6' 4" rookie receiver Bryant with 5 TDs in the last 3 games. His first NFL reception was a TD and he left the ball in the end zone instead of keeping it for his trophy case as if to say he expected to get many more. I haven't even talk about Antonio Brown wow I'm so happy Mike Wallace turned down that deal that went instead to Brown.
Danger lurks for the Steelers. The Jets are up next. In recent years the Steelers have developed a bad habit of playing down to a weak opponent.
Edit: * I should say young self.

To be fair, I don't think Tomlin has ever been the problem. Haley however has been awful at times. It seems like the offense is finally performing the way it should have been all season. Even still, our first three drives last night were abysmal.
I'm going to stop commenting now.
So, lessee here. The Steelers have two weeks to prepare for a 4-7 team and they still lose.
The Steelers are currently 1-2 against quite possibly the worst division the NFL has ever fielded.
Exactly how much longer do we get to watch Tomlin, Haley and LaBlow bumble their way through games?
Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
Sorry Kevin. This loss goes on Roethlisberger's turnovers and high passes. The defense is what it is. Even LeBeau can't keep defenders from stumbling or just getting plain beat. But fresh coaching could make a difference in attitude. The Steelers. still control their fate. They have 2 games against the Bengals and the chance to win the division.
I'm sure there is plenty of blame to go around, but losing to teams with losing records has become so commonplace that it's an expected outcome at this point.
At some point you've got to start questioning the motivation of the players as they obviously aren't too concerned about their continued poor efforts on the field. And to me at least, one of the many jobs of a head coach in the NFL is to provide some motivation in the form of a boot up somebody's ass
I understand it's not the Rooney Way to issue "win... or else" type ultimatums to their coaches, but three straight years of this should be enough to start some ass kicking..
You mean like last week when they hung 32 points on the Saints and still lost?
Perhaps the Steelers do better with the old horses put to pasture? Ike was talking to himself the whole game then benched when Green burn him for a big TD. Troy was pointing at the receiver or Mitchell apparently unaware of the ball in the air on another big pass play. Harrison was out and his replacement recovered the game changing fumble. Kiesel was cheering from the sidelines. Steelers aren't going to go far with such a porous D. Perhaps I should have said that if the Steelers put up more than 40 they can still win.
There is a reason this is a rivalry. The black birds got this one but I do believe the Steelers are ascendant. If you read back through this thread, the O-line and lack of a running game was the weakness. Now a weak secondary is the issue. I think that most of the Defense old guard, so highly regarded and deservedly so will be gone. I expect that safety and corner will be high on the wish list. Jason Worilds should be gone to free agency as I don't see the Steelers trying to sign him after this season's performance but the LB corp should see improvement with the recent draft choices. I think that with a quality backup running back the Offense will be set. The O-line, such a problem a few years back will continue to improve. I see Miller coming back but a replacement will be needed soon.
I don't know of one Steelers fan or Pittsburgh sportscaster that picked the Steelers to make the post season let alone win the Division at the beginning of the season. I saw the emergence of the next round of Steeler Super Bowl contenders.
Go Broncos???? No, its time for Pittsburgh fans to turn to the Pen and watch as they fight through a mid season slump and an arsenal of injuries, Let's Go Pens!
Baseball team here wins most of the time despite being swept by the Brewers this last stretch. Brady will feast on the Steelers D or sore lack there of. Ben and his receiving corps will be hard pressed to keep up with Brady.
