Kind of tricky with this new version of the board, as it shows a preview of the internal text in the post.

I suppose the solution is to put a spoiler warning in the first line, and delay any information until it's far enough down in the post that it doesn't show in the preview. Like here, I think.

Did you see the spoiler alert feature?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
It allows you to type things in a quote box that hides

Did you see the spoiler alert feature?

That works too. Even better, actually.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
And now I've even figured out how to do it.

It doesn't work in the first line, though. The hidden language still appears in preview when you list posts!

Warning!  New Spoiler!

HAUS IM ENNSTAL, Austria - Lindsey Vonn won her third straight World Cup downhill on Friday and regained the lead in the overall standings from Maria Riesch of Germany.

Her injured arm hampered Vonn while pushing off at the start, but she still posted the fastest first intermediate time.

"It's not a really difficult downhill here, only if visibility is poor," Vonn said. "In the lower part, the course gets more technically demanding. I really enjoyed my run today."

Not to harp on this unnecessarily, but:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

There's still at least a semi-spoiler in the post above, for the reason noted in the post directly above that: the preview of the first post in a thread doesn't respect the spoiler blackout. On the other hand, it might not even be a semi-spoiler, in that all that shows up in the preview is the fact that the article leads with the words "Lindsey Vonn ...," which conceivably might not be the start of a sentence whose predicate is something along the lines of "won," though that's the usual lead for a sports story.

Incidentally, the AP to the contary, it wasn't her third straight DH victory, but fourth (she won the WC final race at Are last season).

And (just to add another spoiler): today was her fifth.

Another statistic: she has been on the podium in 14 of the last 15 top-level DHs (World Cup plus World Championship).

I give up.  Space down, use the spoiler, etc., etc., etc.

The end result is that this woman is a powerhouse on her new heads.  I'm not a race result historian, but is there another skier that's had this type of WC streak?  Tomba?  Stenmark?
Anyone come to mind in the downhill?

Annemarie Moser-Proell.

For one stretch, she finished 1st or 2nd (and mostly 1st) in 28 consecutive World Cup/World Championship/Olympics downhills.

Wow!  O.k. then, Lindsey has something to shoot for.

Hopefully she comes around on them by Vancouver time.

Sidenote, how much do you think Maria Reisch campaigned her to switch???

Quoted for truth in Vancouver. She just doesn't look comfortable on the Head tech skis, even though she kills on their speed skis. Hopefully she gets healthy in the offseason and finds a setup that works for her. They're great skis, just needs to find her center on them.
