Head Wild Thang versus Wild One?

Thread Starter
I have been told that the Head Wild One is the replacement for the Wild Thang.  If this is true, what changes (if any) have occurred from the 2007-2008 Wild Thang to this year's Wild One?  Also, does anyone have experience in how the 156 size feels compared to the 161?

Thanks!

Bob

This is an area where I'm a tad perplexed.  I hope someone who has this ski in inventory can enlighten.

The Wild Thang was the women's version of the iM82, although the Wild Thang is/was 81 underfoot.

The Wild One last year was the same as the Thang, but this is where I get confused......

The IM line is now the Peak line(IIRC) and it is not the same as the iM line, I can't find the comment, but I want to say that one bear said that they "dumbed down" that line.

Sooo, if the Wild One is unchanged it will be as great as it was.  If they changed it along with the iM line, then you may want to look for a 2009.

Since MM and I will have the same BSL, I can try them out, eh?

On the other hand, I know people that demoed the Wild Thang and thought it was too much ski. So a softened version may be a good thing.

Marcia demoed the Wild Thang and liked it, but our local shop can't get it  --  we have a credit with them that I want to use up, so I am looking for an equivalent ski for her.  They can this year's Wild One, among other skis.

TC, I'm sure that I speak for MM when I say that you can try them out.

I tried the Wild One at the industry demo days at Stratton, and the rep told me the only thing they changed this year was the graphics. So if he was correct, this year's should be the same as last. He also told me they were the equivalent of the Head Monster IM82.

BTW, I loved it. A fine ski.

Thanks, Wendy -- now, we have to decide on size: 156 vs 161?

Bob, for her size and ability, I believe it would be  a big mistake to go with the 156.

161, no doubt.
