 For Friday Skiers!!

If you don't get your lift tickets tonight at the lounge(Trapp Family Lodge) then you will find me at the Mansfield base lodge at Stowe Mountain from 7:30 AM(ish) to 9 AM.
After ( am, you will need to make other arrangements to get your ticket from me because I'll be on the slopes!!!

I see Stowe got a lot of snow yesterday so you guys should have a lot of open terrain. Have fun. I am looking to get out for the first time early next week. My local joint doesn't look as good as Stowe but I always like to do my warm-ups locally before going on trips.

Nosedive
Gondolier

FYI is anyone feeling saucy tomorrow I would be totally up for another skin to the top of the gondi if its not open yet chin clip is worth it.

Wow, Friday skiing at Stowe was great.  The snow was much better than was reported and the company on the mountain was great!

Rossi Smash was there early in the day, just long enough to meet up for a hug and a hello, but then he was off on his hip trendy skis, never to be seen again.  Missed you Rossi.
Iriponsnow cam up for the day,  WOW what  a fun guy to ski with!  Congrats to MrsIrip who wasn't able to make it to Stowe because she was ripping the race course  on another mountain.
If things keep going like they did today, the students of ESA Stowe are in for some incredible conditions!
Lift line was nice, Nose dive was great and there are hopes of more terrain opened tomorrow......see you there!

TC...Yes, nice to see you "live" .

Friday @ Stowe was beyond comical. Tog and I were playing phone tag all morning long, never found him but there was a "banana ski" sighting in the rack at Mansfield Base Lodge. Never could  find TC's wild retro pants while surveying from the quad chair either. I did wind up in a chair with evansilver by sheer coincidence, nice to meet you Evan.

Went in for a late lunch as there was heavy snow coming down and many went in to eat so I had to take advantage of NO lift lines for a couple more runs. Then while in the lodge, who should magically appear but Tog just in time for some great snacks that TeleBetty brought. MattL soon joined us too. Of course never did SKI with any of them all day

Finally did have a sighting off the quad later in the afternoon, Tog, MattL (yard sale victim), TC and others.

Great to ski with you guys....let's do it again real soon!

from friday

The day after with arewolfe and Dowork

yes those are ARGs

The Pillow garden

Dowork

Slavin

if I had to guess the icey groomers all day today werent much fun.

Rossi, Tog came out and did decent keeping up straight skis, no chance of matching my speed though off trail I d hope hed be the first to admit it(he is probably a much better skier than me anywho) now Iriponsnow on the other hand that guys is pretty much unreal. I would be scared to see what him on squads could do. where were you? this was your chance to show everyone how much better straight skis are.

also after watching arewolfe on ARGs I have to say that looked like a alot of fun.

Great group of people here at ESA! I still can't match up real life names and names on here though. I have been running into Epicski (not literally) people in lift lines and all around town. I haven't crashed, so that was someone else you saw not me.

12:30..I am in VT,,see you in a couple of hours.
Pics will come soon, I promise!

But first......
Someone needs to ask Tog about scheming with Sam VonTrapp to pull a skier behind the horse that they have here for the Sleigh rides.
I think Sam totally wants to do it!
Tog has some prejudice against Clydesdales. Something about using a race horse to make a real good show for the people in the dining room.
Trust me, there is soooooo much to this story, but .........well............
What kind of speed do you need to get a 40 ft roostertail?

I could tell you about our...........oh never rmind.

More about ESA, the students and skiing tomorrow.....

Sounds  wonderful especially for those willing to earn the turns. Hope the coaching yields the results you seek . Freezing rain coating every square inch of west PA ruined my opening day. Make some turns for me.

It was great to meet some folks on Friday. The snow on liftline & goat was fantastic. I'm sorry that I could not attend the whole weekend. Nice to place some names to faces. Hope the rest of the camp went as well!

The conditions were much better than we had anticipated a couple weeks ago.  In fact, in some areas, the conditions were really really good.
I'm not sure how many pics were taken, but big grins were had by all.........

More to come when I have a chance to catch my breath.

Thank you to Chris and Trekchick for another great event at Stowe. I had the pleasure of skiing with some great skiers who shared info freely allowing us to get things going pretty good this early in the year. (release sooner and flex forward at the ankle)

The evening video Robin brought was great and a lot of nice swag handed out as well. I wish everyone a great ski season and hope to see you on the slopes again soon! Todo

Sounds like a blast. Really wanted to come this year, after such a great experience last year, but ended up on the surgeon's table this fall. Hope some of my friends from last year made it! See you next year, come hernias or high water.
best,
Hakon
