About 2 years ago I was reading one of those “best ski movie/worst ski movie” threads and saw mention of this film called “Copper Mountain” that featured a young Jim Carrey. I found this intriguing for a couple of reasons. First, I am a Rocky Mountain Super Pass holder and spend a few days each year at Copper. Second, I have always enjoyed Jim Carry.
After reading the thread I logged on to Netflix and sure enough, there is was, so I added it to the queue. Well, after two years of my wife and daughter moving things ahead of it, Copper Mountain arrived in my mailbox on Saturday. Cool, I thought. This beats watching another Warren Miller movie. Last night my wife and I plugged the DVD in and pushed play…
I am not going to ruin the storyline, or otherwise talk about the movie. What I will say is that I am probably going to get a Colorado Pass next year in order to punish Copper for being a part of this debacle! I will also never be able to enjoy a Jim Carrey movie again without having nightmarish flashbacks of this movie pop into my head, not even Dumb and Dumber which really pisses me off! Seriously, they could do away with waterboarding and just show this movie once a day at Guantanamo!
If you have not watched this movie, I dare you… no, I triple-dog dare you to watch it without hitting the fast forward button. If you can manage that, I dare you to buy the Ronnie Hawkins greatest hits cd!
